Events > The Lives of the Ancients
Join us for a public lecture at the Royal Society of Edinburgh on Friday 6th June at 7pm. More information and booking details can be found on the OU’s Eventbrite page.
Step into the sacred spaces of the ancient world with The Open University’s Dr Jessica Hughes, Dr Fiona Hobden, and Dr Stephanie Holton as they uncover how religion shaped the lives of ordinary Greeks and Romans.
Uncover how everyday Romans connected with their gods through the household shrines and rituals at the heart of domestic life, explore how religious experiences shaped the lives of the women of ancient Greece, and discover the healing power of dreams in the cult of Asklepios. The talks will be followed by a panel Q&A, offering a chance to ask your questions and join the discussion.
