This seminar will take place on Tuesday 10th June at 2pm-3.30pm at The Open University campus in Milton Keynes, and online. Our invited speaker is Marisa Musing from the Royal College of Art (see bio below), who will be presenting a paper on ‘digital mimicry and the villa of the mysteries’. The seminar will be delivered both online (via Microsoft Teams) and in person, on The Open University campus in Milton Keynes.

Marisa Musing (she/they) is a transdisciplinary artist and cyber thinker from Toronto Canada, currently based in London, UK. Their work explores relationships between the body, digital identity and archaeological history, expressing ethereal feminist ideals through digital and sculptural media. Their PhD at the Royal College of Art reinvestigates Pompeiian frescoes through a queer cyberfeminist lens. They have presented work at the Royal Academy of Arts, the British Academy, Salone del Mobile, New York Design Week, SOFTER, Ethereal Maison, Restless Egg and Xpace Cultural Centre. Marisa has been featured in Digital Frontier, Glitch Magazine, Hypebae, WGSN, Dezeen, Vogue, and the New York Times.
