Please join us in the Beveridge Hall, Senate House Ground Floor for the official launch of the Baron Thyssen Centre for the Study of Ancient Material Religion. The evening's programme will feature presentations from Open University academics, and a keynote lecture by Professor Esther Eidinow, entitled “Magic: mind, material, metaphor”. Drinks and canapés will be served.

Location: Senate House, Malet Street, London, WC1E 7HU.

Programme (please arrive at 5.15pm to be seated for a 5.30pm start)

5.30pm Welcome by Professor James Robson, Head of School of Arts and Cultures at The Open University

Introduction to the Baron Thyssen Centre for the Study of Ancient Religion (Dr Jessica Hughes, Dr Marion Bowman, Dr Emma-Jayne Graham, Dr Eleanor Betts, Professor Phil Perkins)

6pm Keynote lecture by guest speaker Professor Esther Eidinow: “Magic: Mind, Material, Metaphor”
