Following on from our successful workshop on ‘material religion and textiles’ in May 2025, we are holding a second workshop in June 2026, with a focus this time on greenwood carving, pole lathing and basketry. The workshop will be held at the Working Woodlands Centre, Maulden Wood, Bedfordshire, and will comprise hands-on sessions led by a team of expert crafters, discussion sessions about material religion, and work-in-progress papers about aspects of wood and crafting in ancient religious contexts.
